After O.J. Simpson won parole in Nevada, prison officials took the step of moving him to a cell away from other inmates. The move was done for his protection.

He is in prison in Nevada for a 2007 armed robbery and kidnapping and has been a model prisoner.

A spokeswoman for the Nevada Department of Corrections, Brooke Keast, said that Simpson has been moved to special housing.

“His parole could make him a target here. He just has 2½ months to go, and we don’t want someone trying to make a name for themselves thinking, ‘I’m going to go punch O.J. Simpson in the face,’ ” she stated before adding many of the other inmates at the Lovelock Correctional Center, are serving life sentences so have little to lose.

Simpson’s daughter Sydney spoke up for him at his parole hearing, stating, “He truly is remorseful. We just want him to come home so that we can move forward. For us. Quietly.”

TMZ, caught her brother Justin out shopping at Walmart and asked him his opinion on his dad’s release. He too seemed happy though reserved when asked about the parole decision.

Sydney and Justin were just children when their mother Nicole Brown was murdered at their home while they slept upstairs.
