Alright, Shelby County. No excuses this time: Shelby County Primary elections are May 1, and if you haven’t already cast your ballot . . . QUIT PLAYIN. GO VOTE.
There’s no rain in the forecast, and it’s going to be in the 70s for much of the day. And while it may be more entertaining/interesting to watch what’s happening in Washington or Nashville, the elected officials who will have the most impact on your day-to-day life are those elected at the city and county levels. Furthermore, while today’s primaries will set the stage for the Aug. 2 general election, a number of these elections will be decided today because they have no opponent in the August election.
So you’ve got great weather and good reasons to go get it done. But where? We found this handy tool from the Tennessee Secretary of State’s office. Simply select your county, put in your last name, first name and last four digits of your Social Security Number. Click “Continue” and we’ll tell you EXACTLY where to go to make sure you’re voting in the right place. Oh, and DO YOUR HOMEWORK. Don’t go into the polls without knowing who the candidates are and where they stand on the issues that are important to you.
