As usual on Wednesday nights, we got finished with the paper rather late. And when I get home, I can’t just go straight to bed. I like to wind down as I channel surf. Often, I land on whatever is WKNO, the local PBS affiliate. And that’s how I discovered “The Woman in the Iron Mask.”

I admit, this one his several sweet spots for me personally. It uses science and technology to help identify the 150-year-old corpse of an African American woman that was perfectly sealed in an iron coffin. Dig a little deeper and we uncover the history and a perspective in history we rarely see — that of African Americans living in the North. Science and history used to deliver an untold American story? Sign me up!
