With about four minutes left in the fourth quarter, the Memphis Grizzlies and Miami Heat were in a tight battle. But off the court, there was a trade unfolding that was garnering the attention of fans.

That trade failed to materialize, and the Grizzlies fell 100-97 to the Heat.

Like in their last loss, rebounding was a problem. The Grizzlies were out-rebounded 50-34 on the glass.

The Grizzlies also had trouble putting the Heat’s fire out from beyond the arc. The Heat went 15-39 from three while the Grizzlies finished 8-29.

“We don’t aim to shoot a ton of threes,” J.B. Bickerstaff said. “We take open ones, but those that are rushed and contested we can make one more play.”

The game was the first on a back-to-back. Unlike their last one, the Grizzlies will come into this game after a loss. They’ll be taking on a Houston Rockets team coming off of a day off, and a big win over the Los Angeles Lakers.

According to reports from ESPN and New York Times, the Grizzlies has acquired Kelly Oubre in a three-team deal with the Washington Wizards and Phoenix Suns. The Wizards were getting Trevor Ariza and the Suns Dillon Brooks and Wayne Selden. However, conflicting reports later emerged saying that the Grizzlies thought that they were offering Marshon Brooks, not Dillon.

Bickerstaff briefly met with the media after the game, saying he didn’t have all the information, and didn’t want to “speak out of turn.” ESPN later reported that the deal is dead.
