Grizzlies give up 19-point lead – again – and lose to Celtics, 112-103

Sigh. It’s getting monotonous.

Grizzlies play solid defense and make shots early. Grizzlies build double digit lead. Halftime happens. Grizzlies forget how to play basketball, while opponent catches fire. Grizzlies get outrebounded.

Grizzlies lose a headscratcher of a game that anybody who watched it knows they should have won.

This time it was the Boston Celtics in town for their only appearance in Memphis this season. Memphis actually outscored Boston 38-18 in the second quarter, building a 19-point lead in the process. Memphis shot better than 60 percent for much of the first half.

And then . . . well, see above. Or better yet, see below. I was joined for the postgame commentary by TSD contributor Damichael Cole, who recently endured a trial by fire as a young journalist, covering two Grizzlies game and a Tigers game in 30 hours. We try to make sense of the loss to the Celtics in the GritGrindGrizz postgame report.

Also, video from Coach JB Bickerstaff, Mike Conley and Marc Gasol.
