THOUGHT YOU SHOULD KNOW: Philanthropic Black Women grant cycle open

The grant application process for the Philanthropic Black Women of Memphis (PBWM) is open now through March 15, 2019.

The primary areas of focus for grant consideration include: Career development, Education, Entrepreneurship, Health and Scholarship.

The grant guidelines and eligibility include the following:

  • Must have a 501 © 3 tax-exempt designation from the Internal Revenue Service
  • Be located in Memphis and Shelby County
  • Recipients are only eligible to apply every  3 years
  • A written report is required 12 months after the grant is awarded.

The Philanthropic Black Women of Memphis’ is a private organization that was founded in 2005 and is funded by the members of PBWM. To date PBWM has awarded $70,000 in grants.

Members of the organization include: Monice Moore Hagler (President), Nelda Burroughs, Debra Evans, Edith Kelly-Green, Carolyn Chism Hardy, Mary McDaniel, Deidre Malone and Belinda Watkins.
