Mosque 55’s training seminar set for two-day run, Dec. 15-16 “It’s all about the youth” will be the focus as Muhammad Mosque 55 of the Nationof Islam hosts the 7th Annual Mid-SouthTraining Seminar Dec. 15-16.

“It’s our aim to prepare the Memphis and The Mid-South Region in three areas: 1. Fitness & Health 2. Martial Arts Defense Training 3. How To Police Our Own Communities,” said Muhammad Mosque 55 Protocol Staff Assistant Kareem Ali.

The two-day event will feature a community panel discussion titled Policing Our Community. Bro. Demetric Muhammad, a member of the Nation of Islam Research Dept. will set the context for the discussion, which is scheduled for 5 p.m. at the Orange Mound Community Center at 2590 Park Ave. Registration begins at 3 p.m.

A morning of fitness training at Tom Lee Park begins at 9 a.m. on Saturday. And at noon, there will be a defense technique training session with National Defense Trainer and Grand Master Anthony Muhammad of United Schools of Survival! That main event will be at the Orange Mound Community Center.

Ali said, “We welcome all churches, as we have 87 years of proven experience of protecting our houses of worship from acts of violence.”
