Nas Calls Donald Trump a Racist in Open Letter

President Covfefe will probably hate Nas now (if he didn’t already) after reading an open letter the Queens, N.Y., rapper penned to him.

“We all know a racist is in office,” Nas writes on Mass Appeal. “People can talk their shit … but when you have the responsibility of being President and you carry on like that, you send a strong message to people outside of your group that they ain’t worth shit.”

Nas points out that the person occupying the office doesn’t matter; it’s the person’s actions that are more important.

“My way of addressing these issues is through my work,” he continues. “I observe what’s going on and that goes into my creative process. The person himself, I’m not caught up with. I don’t even have time for Trump or Pence. I don’t give a fuck.”

The rapper also mentions past presidents like Ronald Reagan and how his own voice didn’t matter then, but he’s older and wiser now and realizes that it does.

“It’s the same way I felt as a youngster when Ronald Reagan was in office. My voice at that point didn’t fuckin’ matter to anybody. I didn’t care. You know what’s different today? I’m older, that means I’m more responsible. That means paying attention to what’s happening to my country,” he states.

Nas understands that he has a platform, and it’s music, which he makes a point to use so it can reach younger people.

“I might have a song I want to deliver and then do things around that song that represents that song. And that can represent people and change and help with the education of young people,” Nas says.

Someone in Trump’s camp is probably ferociously Googling information about Nas as President Covfefe prepares to craft another tweet in response.
