O.J. Simpson’s parole hearing has been set for July 20, and if things go well, according to the Nevada Board of Parole Commissioners, he could be released as early as Oct. 1.

Simpson will not be attending the hearing himself. He will instead remain at Lovelock Correctional Center in Nevada and will participate via video conference.

Simpson was arrested in 2007 for armed robbery and kidnapping charges and convicted in 2008. He was sentenced to 33 years in prison, with the possibility of parole after nine years. So, now that it has been 9 years, Simpson is hoping to be released soon, possibly before the end of the year.
