Father who murdered son to get back at his ex laughs during hearing

Father who murdered son to get back at his ex laughs during hearing news Aramazd Andressian Sr

(KABC)

On Tuesday, a California father accused of murdering his son to get back at his ex laughed and joked with the Nevada judge when he appeared for his hearing.

He waved his right to fight being extradited back to California during the hearing a day after police announced that he would be facing a “no-body murder charge,” since the body of the 5-year-old boy has not yet been found.

Aramazd Andressian Sr. was arrested on Friday on suspicion of murder two months after his son’s mother reported the child missing when Andressian failed to show up on April 22 for a custody exchange. The boy was last seen leaving Disneyland with his father around 1 a.m. on April 21, and Andressian was reportedly seen next by himself the following morning at Lake Cachuma in Santa Barbara County.

Investigators claimed that the murder “was a pre-planned event” stemming from a “tumultuous divorce” from the boy’s mother. Authorities also said that he was not acting like a grieving parent, “socializing in Vegas” while the child’s mother helped in the search and put up posters of their missing child.

“He was taking part in activities and displaying mannerisms that were not consistent with a grieving parent,” the lieutenant said.

They also believed that he was a flight risk because he had shaved his beard and colored his hair, signs that authorities believed might indicate that he was preparing to flee somewhere he could not be extradited, though he denied at the hearing that he had plans to do so.

He is currently being held at the Clark County Jail on $10 million bail.
