2 Chainz Just Gave Me a Few More Reasons to Love Him

Instagram/@hairweavekiller

I have a confession: I secretly love 2 Chainz. OK, maybe it’s not so secretly, because my friends know that any time he appears on a song, I am going to turn the volume up as loud as it can go on his parts, and I’m going to rap along at the top of my lungs.

This week, the rapper formerly known as Tityboi gave me new reasons to love him when he turned his Pink Trap House — the house he rented in Atlanta to promote his album Pretty Girls Love Trap Music (yes, the fuck we do) — into both a clinic providing free HIV testing and a church where social organizers gathered to encourage community involvement, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

The Pink Trap House has been a popular destination for tourists and Atlanta natives alike since it opened last month. It boasts an art gallery that features paintings of Atlanta hip hop natives such as Andre 3000, and AJC reports that it has been dubbed as the first “hip hop monument of Atlanta” as fans have lined up in drove to take pictures.

The rapper wanted to do something more with the location, so on Sunday July 2, it became the Trap Church, where social organizers gathered to encourage Atlanta residents to get involved with community organizations.

On July 4, he turned it into the Trap Clinic, and with the help of the Fulton County Board of Health, Atlanta AIDS and Test Atlanta, free HIV testing as well as educational packets, games and giveaways were made available to visitors who came to the trap house from 11 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. on Independence Day.

I have to applaud 2 Chainz for making these two things happen. Community organization and health education are two important types of community investment. I’m sure all who participated are better for Tityboi’s efforts, and I’m here for it.

Of course, for those who just want to drop by and take a picture at the Pink Trap House, it will be open until July 7.
