Memphis in the house at ‘A Wrinkle in Time’ premiere

Calvin Anderson, president of The New Tri-State Defender’s parent company, Best Media Properties Inc., attended the Los Angeles premiere  of Disney’s “A Wrinkle in Time,” last week.

“I was pleased and honored to represent The New Tri State Defender and the NNPA ( National Newspaper Publishers Association) not only in getting an exclusive, first-hand view of the movie, but also in the opportunity to interact with the talent and sponsors that will be bringing this movie to screens in Memphis, the tri-state region, and throughout the country starting March 9th,” Anderson said.

“The NNPA is the 200-member association of African-American publications across the United States. “‘A Wrinkle in Time’is the type movie that it’s publishers believe will be of great interest to their audiences and, as such, see great value in broadly raising awareness in their respective communities.”

Disney,  super-talented director Ava DuVernay and Oprah Winfrey, along with with a star-studded cast, bring the imaginative story of “A Wrinkle in Time” to the big screen. Nissan USA was a major sponsor of the premier.

Held on the evening of Feb. 26th at the El Capitan Theater, the premiere event took over an entire stretch of Hollywood Boulevard.
