The NAACP Image Awards are always a time to celebrate black culture, but the fact that this year’s show fell on Martin Luther King, Jr.’s birthday made it an even more powerful event.

After host, Anthony Anderson opened the show he called the “Oprah For President Headquarters,” he brought up some serious talent to deliver a powerful #TimesUp speech.

Kerry Washington, Lena Waithe, Tracee Ellis Ross, Laverne Cox, Jurnee Smollett-Bell, and Angela Robinson delivered the message loud and clear and urged people to vote in the midterm elections.
