Investigators discover woman shot at her gender reveal party wasnt pregnant news Autum Garrett

Cincinnati police say that the woman who was hosting a party where nine people were shot was not, in fact, pregnant, despite the fact that the party was meant to be a “gender reveal” for her unborn child.

Colerain Township Police Chief Mark Denney said that the false information concerning Cheyanne Willis’ party is hindering the investigation into the shooting that killed Autum Garrett and injured eight others.

“The purpose of the party was to disclose the gender of Cheyanne Willis’ unborn child,” the police report said. A family member said that Willis was no longer pregnant after the shooting.

A statement released on Monday said that the authorities “have been given information we have found to be false. Hours and days have been wasted following leads known to be lies when they were provided to our officers. From the very beginning of this investigation, we have met significant resistance that is uncommon from victims of crime wanting a resolution.”

“As an example, we were led to believe an unborn child was murdered in this incident only to find out that was not the case. That information is not provided to embarrass anyone, only to provide a fair understanding of the challenges we have faced in the past nine days. The Colerain Police Department will not comment further on any other misleading information, other than to say we wish our time had been spent on true leads that would help us remove these dangerous criminals from the streets,” the statement continued.

According to police, two gunmen arrived at the party and said nothing before opening fire on the partygoers, some of whom were chidren, as they were sitting in a room watching a Spiderman movie after the gender reveal party.

Police are not sure if the attack is related to another incident involving Willis, in which she was attacked on Christmas Eve 2015. During that attack, Willis’ hair was cut off, her attacker wrote on her face, and she was hit, all while someone recorded the incident and posted it to social media.
