50 Cent slams Starz network over ‘Power,’ threatens to part ways

On Monday, 50 Cent took to Instagram to complain about how Starz was dealing with him and his show, Power, which is one of the network’s highest-rated shows.

50 Cent, real name Curtis Jackson, who stars in and produces the show, threatened to walk away from the project over complaints that he felt “a little different about ‘Power.’”

The complaints stem from Sunday’s episode, which 50 Cent wanted to be a two-parter. It featured the deaths of the major characters played by Anika Noni Rose and J.R. Ramirez as well as a whole lot of plot that all had to be squished together to fit in one episode when Starz wouldn’t extend its episode order. Because of the compressed episode, he said that the show lost some of its plot and characterization elements.

“Unfortunately, Starz would not give us the extra episode,” he told Entertainment Weekly. “I asked them for 12 episodes for season 4 and they would not do it. So because they would not do it, we had to make it one episode.”
