The 2nd Annual Jimmie Lunceford Jamboree Festival Week organized by The W.E. A.L.L. B.E. Group, Inc. will be held October 21-28.

The festival is a family-friendly event geared towards youths and adults and rooted in an ongoing remembrance of Lunceford – a renowned swing-era saxophonist and bandleader and the first public high school band director in Memphis.

On Oct. 21 from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m., the 2018 Jimmie Lunceford Jamboree Festival Meet & Greet will be held at The Memphis Slim House at 1130 College St. in Soulsville.

Ronald Herd II, aka Bro. Ron aka R2C2H2 Tha Artivist, is the founder and “Chief Executive Artivist” of The W.E. A.L.L. B.E. Group Inc. The festival and its focus on Lunceford grew out of his research.
