London P. Lamar is on her way to the Tennessee General Assembly to represent House District 91. The Democratic Party candidate had no GOP opposition.
Proud to vote
Tennesseans – 1,378,840 of them – voted in person or absentee during the two-week early voting period, which ended November 1. If you weren’t one of them and you’re registered, today (Nov. 6) is the day.
All polls in Tennessee close at 7 p.m. CDT.
Voter ID
Tennesseans voting on Election Day should remember to bring valid photo identification with them to the polls. A driver’s license or photo ID issued by the Tennessee Department of Safety and Homeland Security as well as photo IDs issued by Tennessee state government or the federal government are acceptable even if they are expired. College student IDs are not acceptable.

* As part of its #BeLoudVOTE voter registration and empowerment initiative, the National Civil Rights Museum is hosting a Mid-Term Election Night Watch Party in partnership with the Memphis NAACP, #UPTheVote901, Jack and Jill-Memphis and the #IAmAVoter Collaborative.
The non-partisan event is free and is set for 6 p.m. to 10 p.m.

* With no Republican candidates in the race for House District 91, Election Day is all about making it official for London P. Lamar and her supporters. Thus this pitch:

Later that evening, celebrate during the Election Night Party at Sage Memphis (94 S. Main St.) from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. The event is free.
NEED A LYFT
Lyft is providing free and discounted rides to the polls. There are discount codes (found at BuzzFeed) for 50 percent off Election Day rides across the country, and Lyft is partnering with Faith in Action, a nonpartisan, nonprofit organization, to provide free rides to the polls for Memphis-area residents in underserved communities.
