As part of his weekly press conference, Memphis Tigers’ Head Coach Penny Hardaway took a look back at his first regular season as coach – while trying not to get too far ahead of himself as the team faces the daunting task of trying to win the American Athletic Conference Tournament.

Even though the Tigers will be playing in front of a raucous home crowd, winning the AAC would mean winning four games in four days. He’s grateful to have a “home court advantage” of sorts, but doesn’t want his players to take anything for granted.

“This time of the year, all that is thrown out of the window,” he said Tuesday. “(All the AAC teams) have gotten better since the season started. But yeah, there is some pressure, because even though we’re in fifth place, people are expecting us to be a favorite because of the way we play at home.”
