Maybe Tiger Woods Wasn’t Drunk When He Was Found Asleep at the Wheel

Maybe Tiger Woods wasn’t plastered early Monday when he was found asleep in his 2015 Mercedes on the side of a Jupiter, Fla., road. Maybe he wasn’t lying when he told police that he wasn’t driving under the influence.

Woods was arrested Monday and charged with a DUI after police found him knocked out behind the driver’s seat of his car. According to Woods’ arrest report, viewed by CNN, the brake lights on Woods’ car were illuminated and the turn signal was on when Woods was found just miles from his home.

Woods, who was reportedly slurring his speech, said that he had been golfing and didn’t know where the hell he was—a statement he would later retract, according to CNN. Woods told police that he “takes several prescriptions.”

And here’s what makes me think that Woods wasn’t drunk: He took a Breathalyzer test and blew a 0.000. I’m not a mathematician by any stretch—in fact, three-digit long division scares me—but I’ve seen enough Maury episodes to know that if I’m involved in a paternity suit and it comes up as a 0.000 percent chance that I’m the kid’s father, I can immediately start doing the not-the-father dance.

Woods, who recently had back surgery, denied that he was intoxicated and noted that the incident stemmed from “an unexpected reaction to prescribed medications,” CNN reports.

“I understand the severity of what I did, and I take full responsibility for my actions,” Woods said.

Woods is set to make his first court appearance July 5, according to records released Tuesday.
