On Tuesday, a Santa Fe College student was arrested after he held his professor against her will and would not let her leave until she agreed to let him make up an exam he had missed.

According to the Santa Fe Police Department, Jude Chiedu Akachukwu, the student in question, entered the professor’s office without being invited inside, closed the door, and blocked the doorway, informing the professor that he would not let her leave until she let him make up the exam.

The professor told him that he could not make up the exam and tried to walk away, at which point Akachukwu grabbed her arm. When she said that she would call the police, Akachukwu threw himself to the ground crying. He then followed her to her classroom when she left her office to teach and continued to be disruptive in her class.

After the incident, Akachukwu was charged with false imprisonment, battery and disturbing the peace.
