Today's Best Deals: Jerky Samples, External Storage, Schlage Door Handle, and More

Amazon’s jerky sample box, Schlage door knobs, and a 3TB external drive lead off Friday’s best deals from around the web.

Bookmark Kinja Deals and follow us on Twitter to never miss a deal.

It’s not the sexiest or more powerful laptop out there, but $500’s a solid deal for a Dell with Windows 10 Pro, a 1080p fold-back touchscreen, and a 128GB SSD. The 4GB of RAM is a little lackluster, but you could upgrade that yourself later.

The market is littered with beautiful, minimal laptop stands from accessory design shops, but no matter how much you love yours, there’s no guarantee that your next laptop will fit properly. That’s where the iQunix Edin comes in.

At first blush, the Eden looks like any other aluminum, Apple-centric laptop stand. But its secret is a knob that adjusts the dock’s width, meaning no matter what laptop you happen to own at the moment (as long as it’s between 0.4 and 1.18 inches thick), it’ll fit like a glove. For a limited time, you can save $6 on yours with promo code ediquinx.

Update: Sold out, but here’s a Seagate 3TB drive for $80, although it does require a power cord.

Whether you need the space for backups, photos, or even PS4 and Xbox One games, $83 is one of the best prices you’ll see on a 3TB external hard drive, let alone one that doesn’t require an external power supply.

The advent of inexpensive Bluetooth headphones has been a net positive, but there’s no getting around it: They’re a pain in the ass to charge.

Luckily, Mpow’s headphone carrying case includes a built-in 800mAh battery and microUSB cable, so you can recharge your earbuds while simultaneously keeping them from getting lost or tangled in your bag. Yeah, you’ll still need to recharge the case, but this definitely makes Bluetooth earbuds a simpler option while traveling.

Mpow basically created the affordable Bluetooth headphone market, and the company’s ergonomic Cheetah line looks like a great entry in their lineup. Note that this is actually the second generation of Cheetah earbuds; Mpow claims to have improved their water resistance this time around, making them perfect for exercise.

Our readers have bought a lot of AC power receptacles with USB charging ports over the last few years, but if you were holding out for more future-proof options with USB-C and Quick Charge technology, TopGreener’s new, more powerful receptacles are cheaper than ever today.

You get your choice of either two Quick Charge USB-A ports, or one QC port and a USB-C port for your newer devices for $24-$26, with the promo codes noted below. Unfortunately, you will sacrifice one of your AC outlets for the privilege, but chances are, you already have some USB charging bricks plugged in at all times throughout your house anyway.

Don’t need those fancy new features? Here’s one with two standard USB ports for $16 as well.

These compact APC uninterruptible power supplies won’t be able to keep your gaming PC running at full throttle during a power outage, but they can provide enough juice to power NAS enclosures, external hard drives, or even your home networking gear during a power outage, at least until you can get everything powered down safely.

Both are $5 off when you clip the on-screen coupon, but the $52 model is more powerful, and includes a USB port.

Affordable Bluetooth earbuds are a dime a dozen, but we don’t see nearly as many deals on wireless over-ears. Get a pair from Mpow today for $32 with code UTEHIVNV, complete with 13 hours of battery life and a wired mode if that battery ever does run out.

Samsung is running a BOGO on both the Galaxy S8 and the S8+ on T-Mobile. Be the cool guy with two phones, or upgrade yourself and give away the other one to some plebs your kid who probably needs a new phone by now. Just add both to your cart, check out, and you’ll get a rebate after you activate.

The past year or so has seen a welcome deluge of Wi-Fi router innovation, and Portal seems to be one of the best newcomers in the space, particularly for smaller dwellings in congested, urban environments.

Portal includes app-based configuration, nine internal antennas, and mesh capabilities if you buy more than one…table stakes these days for a good router. But while almost all home Wi-Fi routers limit you to a small number of public channels over 5GHz, Portal also opens up four “DFS” channels that are typically reserved for military use and commercial radar.

The law allows home routers to use these DFS channels, but they must shift off of them for a set amount of time whenever they detect active radar to avoid interference. Portal does just this, and moves all of your devices off of the busy channel in the background automatically, and shifts them back on when it’s safe. That means that most of the time, these channels are practically empty, so you won’t have to worry about interference from your neighbors’ Wi-Fi networks. This Digital Trends review has a thorough explanation of the technology, if you’re curious.

Portal retails for $200, and has sold for around $150 for the last few months, but for a limited time, you can try it out for $126 with promo code KINJAWIN. I bought this thing earlier this year, and absolutely love it.

Anker’s take on truly wireless earbuds is finally here, and you can save a lot by preordering through Kickstarter.

Update: $79 and $89 specials sold out, but there are some left at $99.

Needless to say, we don’t make a habit of covering crowdfunding campaigns, but given that we’ve personally used almost every product Anker has ever made, and our readers have purchased more than 200,000 of their products without issue, we’ll make an exception. Especially for this huge preorder discount.

Even better, I checked out two engineering samples of the Liberty+ on a recent trip to Seattle. They were comfortable (using the only size of ear tips available with the samples), and sounded great both when streaming Spotify and playing a few minutes of some podcasts.

As you’d expect from Anker, the headline spec here is battery life. Liberty+ gets a competitive 3.5 hours of playtime from the earbuds, but a whopping 48 hours out of the charging case. They also have some waterproofing, use Bluetooth 5.0, and work with your favorite voice assistants. Just don’t expect to wear them underwater or find any built-in fitness tracking.

I’ve been using wireless earbuds most days since mid-2016, and between our team we’ve tested more than ten different pairs. Anker’s Liberty+ are a steal at $89 (or $99 if you miss the early bird special), and while they will of course get discounted many times in the future from their $149 MSRP, we wouldn’t expect this price point again any time soon.

Expected shipping in October 2017.

Anker’s PowerLine and PowerLine+ cables were already our readers’ favorite charging cables, but the new PowerLine II line is even stronger, comes with a hassle-free lifetime warranty, and is a few bucks off on Amazon today.

We wrote more about the cables over on Gear, but the long and short of it is that between the extreme durability and the lifetime warranty, it’s quite possible that this will be the last Lightning cables you ever have to buy. The 6′ model is the one on sale this week, but only in white.

VPNs are in the news these days, and with good reason. So if you’re curious to sign up and start protecting your browsing history and personal data (or, you know, getting around websites’ geoblocks), NordVPN charges less per month than a typical trip to Starbucks.

NordVPN has long been one of the most popular and reliable VPN providers out there, and if you sign up for a one-year membership, promo code VIP70 will drop your annual price from $69 to $48. If you’re sure you want to commit, use this link instead to get a special two year plan for $79 with code 2YSpecial2017. Lifehacker has recommended Nord in some previous guides, but if you have any firsthand experience with the service, sound off in the comments!

While you can’t control these Schlage door handles with your smartphone, the ability to unlock your front door with a passcode is perfect for house sitters or overnight guests, or for just unlocking the door while you’re carrying groceries.

$88 is within a few bucks of the best price Amazon’s ever listed, and you can choose from several different finishes to match your decor. Just note that that is a Gold Box deal, so don’t get locked out of these savings.

In today’s edition of “I can’t believe Amazon will ship heavy furniture for this little money,” we have an attractive wood TV stand for an all-time low $119. At this price, it’s obviously MDF rather than actual hardwood, but it has great reviews, and looks quite nice for the price.

You know those warm, dim, Edison-style bulbs you see in fancy restaurants and bars staffed by men with mustaches? Well, it turns out that they make LED version of those, and you can own six of them for $22 with promo code 3BBJHXS6. And unlike a lot of alternatives, these are dimmable, and even use E26 bases that work in any standard lighting fixture.

CREE LED flashlights pack a whole lot of lumens into shockingly small packages, and $10 today gets you an OxyLED flashlight, an 18650 rechargeable battery, and a charger. We see these types of lights for around $5-$7 from time to time, but those deals usually require you to find the battery yourself.

Update: Sold out, sorry.

As far as we’re aware, jerky was the theme of Amazon’s first ever Prime sample box, but we haven’t seen a similar deal since…until now.

While supplies last, $10 gets you 10 or more sample-sized jerky products, plus a $10 credit on your next eligible jerky purchase. That’s basically free jerky, which is a hell of a way to kick off the weekend. I don’t think I’ve ever purchased anything faster in my life.

Finally, someone made the Glow Bowl, but for everywhere else in your home. This motion-sensing light strip is billed as an under-bed night light, but you could just as easily attach it under your bathroom counter, along a railing, beneath your baby’s crib, or anywhere else you might need to venture in the middle of the night. For a limited time, you can get one for just $15 with code SHTEP3JV, matching an all-time low.

String lights make every outdoor space better, and while we see deals on globe-style strands with some regularity, but almost all of them still use power-hungry incandescent bulbs. But if you’d prefer to go all-out with LEDs, this 49’/15-bulb strand from Cymas is on sale for $60 today with promo code 4MIPIVLN.

This Suaoki portable jump starter isn’t the most powerful model out there—at 400A, it’s only going to work on relatively small cars with 2.5L or smaller engines—but $22 is one of the best prices we’ve ever seen on a product like this.

Let’s be honest here, thin fabric koozies are mostly useful for decoration; they don’t really keep a can cold for very long. This imposing metal Thermos contraption though? It’s the real deal.

Thermos’s stainless steel can insulator uses vacuum insulation and thick walls to actually provide a barrier between your beverage and the outside world. They go so far as to claim that it will keep a can cold for up to 3 hours, and even if that’s a little bit of marketing hyperbole, what could possibly be in that can that takes more than an hour to drink?

Even during the winter months, it has the added benefit of protecting your bare skin from cold, damp cans, so you can use it all year round.

Over 2,500 Amazon reviewers have given the Thermos a 4.5 star review average, and you can get one (or more!) for just $8 right now. Bottom’s up!

Anker’s beginning its drive into the automotive accessory space with an affordable new dash cam, and you can race over to Amazon to snag one for $68, the best price we’ve seen since our exclusive (and short-lived) $64 launch deal..

I test drove the Anker Roav DashCam, and you can see my full impressions here. But to give you the cliffnotes, it shoots 1080p, its space-saving design makes it essentially invisible to the driver, and it even includes Wi-Fi to transfer clips to your phone, which is hard to find in a sub-$100 dash cam.

The last big deal on this thing only lasted a few hours, and we have little reason to expect this will be any different.

We’ve posted a lot of deals lately on these coccyx seat cushions, but $13 is one of the best prices we’ve seen to date. These will improve posture and ease back pain in any chair where you spend a lot of time, from the office to the car to a long flight.

If you own an older vehicle, you probably don’t have Bluetooth. Hell, you might not even have an AUX jack. But that doesn’t mean you can’t stream music, podcasts, and phone calls wirelessly to your stereo.

Just plug this $13 transmitter into your car’s power outlet (it has a built-in USB port so you can still charge your phone), find an empty radio station, connect your phone over Bluetooth, and stream away.

Please, for your own sake, throw out those faded, stretched out t-shirts and the pairs of socks that your big toe goes through. It’ll be okay, I promise. Now head over to H&M and take up to 60% off during their one-day flash sale. Everything from tees and tanks to dresses, even jackets and coats are marked down, so there’s really no excuse.

If you’ve got the space for it, you’d be hard pressed to find an exercise bike cheaper than this. Despite the low price though, it still features eight levels of resistance, a screen to track your stats, and a 4.2 star review average.

Dorco’s Pace razors consistently represent some of the best values in the shaving industry, even when they aren’t on sale, but if you aren’t sure which model is right for you, this trial pack can help you decide.

The Pace Trial Pack includes a handle, six Pace 6 Plus cartridges (which include a seventh blade on the top to use as an edger), and four each of their Pace 6, Pace 4, and Pace 3 cartridges, which includes six, four, and three blades, respectively. The set would normally cost you about $38, but promo code KINJATRYDP will take 50% off at checkout.

Kershaw’s popular Leek knife is a great general-purpose fold-out blade, and an absolute steal at $31. That’s within about $1 of the best price Amazon’s ever listed on this 4.6 star-rated knife, just remember to take it out of your pocket before you go to the airport.

It’s as good a time as any to stock up on new workout clothes with PUMA’s Spring Markdowns (even though it’s summer). There’s something for every level of exerciser, and some everyday basics that you can wear just to look like you kind of workout.

TriggerPoint’s “GRID” is one of the most popular foam rollers on the market, and Amazon’s offering Prime members the black 13″ model for $21 today. You’ll even get some instructional videos to help you get started.

The Hanes Comfort Soft line took down your vote for best men’s underwear, and today you can get a 5-pack for $22 from Amazon. You can also save $2 by opting for the Comfort Flex, which features exposed elastic, rather than covering it with fabric like the Comfort Softs.

You do not have to go through the measurement and customization process to lock in this discount. You can checkout now and submit later, which makes it very easy to gift a suit.

This matches our exclusive Black Friday discount, which is the best deal Indochino’s ever offered, and one of our most popular exclusives ever.

Having a suit that fits perfectly is great, but the little details Indochino lets you customize, from your jacket lapels to pocket flaps to accent stiching around your buttons, are where things get fun.

How It Works

Measure and customize from home…

Follow the directions on Indochino’s site to submit your measurements and customize your suit. Once the suit arrives, if anything doesn’t fit quite right, Indochino will provide directions for your local tailor, along with a $75 credit to cover their work. If for whatever reason your tailor cannot resolve the issues, Indochino will remake your suit. Shipping and return shipping are free.

If you live near a showroom

Purchase your suit online with our discount and take your receipt/account info into an Indochino showroom. They’ll do your measurements, walk you through your customization options, and have your suit delivered to the showroom. Return once it arrives for any final alterations if they’re needed.

Those who already have a closet full of suits may want to opt for something more interesting like the Indigo Twill Windowpane, while the rest of us should go for something versatile.

You can get everything for as little as $12, or certain apps for even less, so even if you only see yourself using one or two of these programs, this is still an insanely good deal.

When you’re not playing games, the Xbox One is also a pretty great set-top streaming box. The only problem? The gamepad takes a few seconds to wake up, which can be really annoying when you just want to pause a movie.

Today on Amazon, both the official Xbox One Media Remote and Kinect sensor are marked down to great low prices, and both make great additions to the console for your movie nights.

Note: You’ll need an adapter to use the Kinect with the Xbox One S, unfortunately.

Update: The Steam Link is sold out, but the controller is still available.

If you want to pick up some Steam hardware as the Summer Sale kicks off, both the Steam Link and Steam controller are on sale today. The Link will only set you back $15, a new all-time low, while the controller is $15 less than usual, at $35.

The 2017 Steam Summer Sale just went live, with deals on hundreds of titles including Hollow Knight, Rocket League, Telltale’s Guardians of the Galaxy, and a lot (a lot!) more.

Amazon’s had a ton of good board game deals lately, but if you’ve still got room on your shelf, 7 Wonders is well worth picking up for $24, within about a dollar of an all-time low.

From Board Game Geek, where it’s a top 40 game:

You are the leader of one of the 7 great cities of the Ancient World. Gather resources, develop commercial routes, and affirm your military supremacy. Build your city and erect an architectural wonder which will transcend future times.

7 Wonders lasts three ages. In each age, players receive seven cards from a particular deck, choose one of those cards, then pass the remainder to an adjacent player. Players reveal their cards simultaneously, paying resources if needed or collecting resources or interacting with other players in various ways. (Players have individual boards with special powers on which to organize their cards, and the boards are double-sided). Each player then chooses another card from the deck they were passed, and the process repeats until players have six cards in play from that age. After three ages, the game ends.
