Today's Best Deals: Nest Thermostat, Marvel Sale, Anker SoundBuds, and More

Amazon’s one-day Marvel sale, $50 off a Nest thermostat, and Anker’s fitness-friendly SoundBuds lead off Friday’s best deals from around the web.

Bookmark Kinja Deals and follow us on Twitter to never miss a deal.

Top Tech Deals

Anker’s original SoundBuds are your favorite affordable wireless earbuds, but the newer SoundBuds Tag just got their biggest discount ever. $24 is $6 less than usual, and beats the previous deal we saw by $2.

The Tags basically appear to be a slightly tweaked version of the SoundBuds Sport, boasting a redesigned remote and better ear tips. Like the Sports though, they’ll still turn off when you connect the two magnetic earpieces together, and turn back on once you pull them apart. Smart.

If you live in a city with Amazon’s same-day Prime Now delivery service, but haven’t gotten around to using it yet, they’re running a fantastic promotion for new members to celebrate the lead-up to Prime Day.

For a limited time, you can save $10 on your first Prime Now order with promo code 10PRIMEDAY, and receive an additional $10 credit by July 13 to use before the end of the month on another order. Prime Now requires you to spend $20 per order for free two hour delivery, so that means you can basically save 50% on snacks, ice cream, household essentials, and more brought right to your front door.

If the name didn’t make it clear, you’ll need to be a Prime member to take advantage of Prime Now, but you can sign up for a 30 day free trial here.

Whether you love to sing in the shower, or just need more time to catch up on your podcasts, everyone should own a water-resistant Bluetooth speaker when they only set you back $15. You even get to choose from four different colors.

Need a lot of extra storage for your Nintendo Switch or action cam? The advent of 200GB+ cards means that 128GB cards, which until relatively recently sold in the $60-$80 range, are finally inching towards affordability. This Samsung card with ultra-fast U3 transfer speeds is down to $45 today, the lowest price Amazon’s ever listed.

It wasn’t long ago that portable, USB-powered external hard drives maxed out at 2TB, but this Seagate Backup Plus manages to double that, and you can pick one up for an all-time low $100 today.

We’re not sure how long this deal will last, so if you need to keep a lot of storage in your travel bag, or plugged into your game console, I’d grab this quickly.

There aren’t a whole lot of USB-C chargers out there that can output enough juice to charge a MacBook at full speed, but this iClever BoostCube can handle it, and then some.

Its single USB-C port can push out 45W of power, which is squarely between the 12″ MacBook’s 29W and the 13″ MacBook Pro’s 61W. That means it’ll charge the former at full speed, and should charge the latter fairly quickly considering it’s only $19 with code ICLEVERC, compared to the $69 Apple charges for a 61W power supply.

Giant plugs that cover up half the outlets on your power strip should be outlawed, but until that day arrives, these short extension cords will have to do. $14 gets you a pack of 10, which should be enough for even the most advanced home theater setups.

We’ve seen plenty of deals on “premium” Google Cardboard-compatible VR headsets, but this is one of the few that includes a magnetic button on the side, which means you won’t have to pair an external Bluetooth remote to navigate within VR apps. Seriously, if you haven’t played with Google Cardboard yet, you’ll have so much fun.

VPNs are in the news these days, and with good reason. So if you’re curious to sign up and start protecting your browsing history and personal data (or, you know, getting around websites’ geoblocks), NordVPN charges less per month than a typical trip to Starbucks.

NordVPN has long been one of the most popular and reliable VPN providers out there, and if you sign up for a one-year membership, promo code VIP70 will drop your annual price from $69 to $48. If you’re sure you want to commit, use this link instead to get a special two year plan for $79 with code 2YSpecial2017. Lifehacker has recommended Nord in some previous guides, but if you have any firsthand experience with the service, sound off in the comments!

Anker’s PowerPorts are our readers’ favorite USB charging hubs, and the 6-port/60W PowerPort 6 is just $20 today on Amazon with promo code GEYC7LFE. Keep these at your desk, on your nightstand, or even (my personal favorite) behind your couch, and you’ll never been short a place to charge.

Whether your current mouse is giving you chronic wrist pain, or you just want to try something different, this 4.2 star rated wireless ergonomic vertical mouse from Anker is only $13 today, or $7 less than usual. In addition to the clever design, it even comes with three adjustable DPI settings and forward/back buttons, which are pretty rare at this price level.

This 10,000mAh battery pack doesn’t have Quick Charge or USB-C, but it does have the most important feature you can get in a battery pack: An incredibly slim design.

It’s going to be years before most of the USB ports in the world use the new USB-C standard, so until then, you’ll need adapters that allow you to use both. That’s what makes this RAVPower cable so great; it’s USB-C on one side, but the other end forks into both USB-C and USB-A connectors, so you can plug into any port you find, no dongles necessary.

While Anker’s come out with nylon wrapped charging cables, and even some with lifetime warranties, their original PowerLine Lightning cable is still a big improvement over the one that came with your phone, and you can get three for an all-time low $18 right now with code PRIME258.

Anker’s take on truly wireless earbuds is finally here, and you can save a lot by preordering through Kickstarter.

Update: After running out the second time, Anker just added an additional 10,000 $99 backer rewards, so there’s still time to preorder.

Needless to say, we don’t make a habit of covering crowdfunding campaigns, but given that we’ve personally used almost every product Anker has ever made, and our readers have purchased more than 200,000 of their products without issue, we’ll make an exception. Especially for this huge preorder discount.

Even better, I checked out two engineering samples of the Liberty+ on a recent trip to Seattle. They were comfortable (using the only size of ear tips available with the samples), and sounded great both when streaming Spotify and playing a few minutes of some podcasts.

As you’d expect from Anker, the headline spec here is battery life. Liberty+ gets a competitive 3.5 hours of playtime from the earbuds, but a whopping 48 hours out of the charging case. They also have some waterproofing, use Bluetooth 5.0, and work with your favorite voice assistants. Just don’t expect to wear them underwater or find any built-in fitness tracking.

I’ve been using wireless earbuds most days since mid-2016, and between our team we’ve tested more than ten different pairs. Anker’s Liberty+ are a steal at $89 (or $99 if you miss the early bird special), and while they will of course get discounted many times in the future from their $149 MSRP, we wouldn’t expect this price point again any time soon.

Expected shipping in October 2017.

Aukey’s tiny USB car charger is a reader favorite, but this iClever model is the same size and puts out the same 4.8A of power over two ports, and it’s only $7 today with promo code ICCAR699. Plus, unlike the plastic Aukey, this one’s made of aluminum, which is supposedly better for heat dissipation, but it definitely looks cooler.

You don’t need to sell a kidney to afford noise-cancelling Bluetooth earbuds; these 4 star-rated Cowin E-7s are just $38 right now, or $32 off with promo code 42YFK63R.

They might not have the brand recognition of Sony or Bose, but these headphones pack in 30 hours of battery life, the ability to use them in wired mode if the battery dies, and yes, active noise cancellation that reviewers say works really well.

Mark your calendars, because Amazon’s third annual Prime Day is July 11, with the deals actually kicking off at 9PM ET the night before.

Of course, we’ll be sifting through the avalanche of deals to help you find the best stuff, but in the meantime, a few great digital discounts are already live on Amazon’s Prime Day hub page. The highlights here are six months of Audible for $9 each (rather than the usual $15), up to 40% off Kindle Unlimited subscriptions, and 15% off July 4 snacks. Again, these deals are available starting today, if you have a Prime subscription (sign up for a free 30 day trial here).

The best early access deal of them all though is undoubtedly four months of Amazon Music Unlimited for just $1. It’s only available for new members, but that’s the best deal we’ve seen on the service, which will still be less expensive than Spotify Premium ($8 vs. $10) after the promotional period expires.

Top Home Deals

The newest, big-screen Nest Learning Thermostat 3.0 is down to $198 today, which is a match for the best discount we’ve ever seen. These don’t go on sale all that often, so if you have one on your wishlist, I wouldn’t hesitate.

Note: This deal expires tomorrow, so don’t miss your chance.

If you don’t own a pressure cooker, today’s a great day to fix that, as Amazon’s knocked the month-old Instant Pot IP-DUO Plus down to $96 today, or $24 less than usual.

The Plus’s predecessor, the IP-DUO60 (which had a few fewer cooking options and temperature settings) was one of the most popular items we listed last year, so this is a great chance to get the upgraded version without paying any extra.

Update: The original IP-DUO60 is also $20 off, now $80.

If you’re worried that you won’t get a ton of use out of this thing, note that in addition to standard pressure cooking, Instant Pot is also our readers’ favorite slow cooker, and one of their favorite rice cookers too. To put a fine point on it: It’s one of the most versatile kitchen gadgets you can own.

For those who don’t need a gooseneck kettle for pourover coffee, and aren’t willing to spring for the ultimate tea maker, the Cuisinart PerfecTemp is one of the best (and best looking) electric kettles around. It’s down to $64 after you clip the 15% coupon on the page, which is the best price we’ve ever seen on a non-refurb. Just be sure to grab yours before this deal boils dry.

Let’s drop the pretense and be honest for a second; drinking wine is great, but half the fun is showing off your bottle collection. This 12-bottle rack is $26 on Amazon today as part of a Gold Box deal, and the manufacturers are quite proud to tell you that it has a 330 pound load capacity. So unless you’re filling wine bottles with lead or dark matter, I don’t think you have to worry about its durability.

You don’t necessarily need to buy a new mattress to get a better night’s sleep: Sometimes, a mattress pad will do, and a good one is on sale in today’s Amazon Gold Box.

With hypoallergenic, synthetic duck and goose down specially made to relieve pressure points, you’ll sleep better knowing you didn’t have to drop hundreds of dollars on a new mattress.

Prices range from just $60-$78 today, depending on the size, but just note that this is a Gold Box deal, meaning this price is only available today, so don’t sleep on it.

Anker’s HomeVac Duo vacuum transforms from handheld to upright, has the impressive runtime you’d expect from the brand that makes your favorite battery packs, a washable HEPA filter, and a great warranty. That’s quite a package for $89, within a few bucks of the best price we’ve seen.

This was Anker’s first foray into cleaning products, and reviewers seem to love it so far. It’ll run for 24 minutes on a charge at full power, or an hour in eco mode, which should be sufficient for most average-sized homes. The standout feature though is definitely the detachable hand vac, which lets you clean furniture, shelves, and even your car with ease.

Note: This code will only work on the white model.

Getting 175 York Peppermint Patties for $13 is easy (if you’re a Prime member). Stopping yourself from eating all of them at once? Not so much.

Even (or perhaps, especially) in the age of laptops and tablets, many people prefer the tactile experience of jotting down notes with an actual pen and paper, and the most tactile experience of all comes from the Ghost Paper Notebook.

Rather than simply printing lines on the sheet to keep your letters straight, Ghost Paper’s lines are very slightly embossed, giving your pen an actual base from which to start each character. Shane tried one of these out earlier this year and loved it, and you can get your own notebook for $5 off today with promo code KINJA444.

Our readers have bought thousands of Dash Go egg cookers over the last few months, but this Hamilton Beach alternative recently took over the top-seller spot on Amazon, and it’s only $12 right now.

This cooker will prepare up to six soft, medium, or hard boiled eggs at the touch of a button, or you can swap in the poaching tray to make three perfectly poached eggs at once. When breakfast is this easy, maybe you’ll actually start eating it.

This inexpensive mandoline slicer can chop all of your favorite fruits, vegetables, cheeses, and fingers for just $16. Plus, its five interchangeable plates and three thickness settings mean it can adapt to many different ingredients and recipes. I have this and use it practically every time I cook, with no pieces of fingers missing.

Anker’s settings its sights on the affordable LED lighting market with the release of its new Lumi night lights, and you can save 20% at launch for a limited time.

This sale is valid for both the battery-powered and plug-in models, but you should note that the stick-anywhere battery lights include a motion sensor to save power, while the plug-in lights will glow whenever it’s dark. Today’s prices are a match for a pair of launch deals we saw on these lights, but those sold out within minutes.

6″ probably isn’t thick enough for a mattress you’ll sleep on every day, but it’s just fine for a kid’s room or guest room, and $100 for a queen is an insanely good price when it comes to foam mattresses.

We’ll probably be a Russian colony soon, so you might as well start assimilating to the culture by buying a dash cam. This one from Aukey includes a 1080p Sony sensor and 170 degree field of view, a design that tucks behind your rear view mirror, and capacitors that are rated to work in temperatures from -4°F to 149°F.

Having an existential crisis about how humble your abode is looking? Jet.com has a plethora of home decor, furniture, and outdoor accoutrements to have a summer-ready home for a lot less. Use the codes HOME10 for $10 off orders of $50+, HOME25 for $25 off orders of $100+, and HOME50 for $50 off orders of $200+.

You never want to be in a situation where you need a solar and hand crank-powered weather radio with a flashlight and USB port for charging your phone, but when you can get one for $17, you probably should buy it just in case.

This Aukey oil diffuser features a nice-looking faux-wood base and a color-changing mood light on top, and will de-stink and humidify a room for hours on end. Just bring in a masseuse and cut some cucumber slices for your eyes, and you’ve got yourself a spa.

Anker’s 1300 lumen LC130 flashlight is so bright, it ought to be illegal. Luckily, it’s not, and it’s also cheaper than ever today with promo code BEST0703.

In addition to the insanely bright bulbs, the LC130 features IP67 dust and water resistance, five different light modes, and a six hour battery that you can recharge over USB (it is Anker, after all).

Top Lifestyle Deals

We finally found it. The best product on Amazon.

This is a horse head-shaped squirrel feeder that hangs from a tree branch. To get to the food, a squirrel has to stand on its hind legs and put its head inside the horse, which the Amazon product description claims “causes much hilarity.” Understatement of the century, if you ask me.

$10 is the lowest price ever, and kind of insane considering this product is clearly worth hundreds, maybe thousands of dollars.

Dorco continues shaving the prices on their already-affordable razors, and you can get a Pace 6 Plus handle plus 10 cartridges for $13, plus free shipping. Just be sure to use promo code KINJAP6P125 at checkout to get the deal.

TriggerPoint’s GRID foam rollers are the most popular on the market, and Amazon just discounted the 13″ extra firm model to $23. That’s within about a buck of an all-time low, so limber up your buying muscles, and go get it.

A few months ago, Uniqlo launched a collaboration with Nintendo and a bunch of artists created a really awesome t-shirt range. At $15 a pop, it was worth it, but it’s even more worth it now that they’re all marked down to just $10 for both men and women. Show your love for Mario, the townsfolk of Animal Crossing, Pokemon, and more.

Our readers have bought thousands upon thousands of nose hair trimmers over the years, but this newish model from Philips ups the ante with an eyebrow trimming attachment, plus comb guards to ensure that you don’t make any tragic mistakes.

Privé Revaux Sunglasses: 25% off with code KJAPRV25 or 35% off with code KJAPRV35

You can get $20 sunglasses that are polarized or $20 sunglasses with metal frames, but rarely both, and never in this many different styles.

Note: The 25% code is expired now, but the 35% code is still available.

Privé Revaux makes polarized, stylish shades for less than half of what you’d expect, and right now, our readers can take advantage of their best prices ever. Yes, the models are celebrities looking super awkward who probably had nothing better to do, but the sunglasses are actually pretty great looking.

The styles you see through this link are marked down to just $22 with promo code KJAPRV25 (only the lens colors you see on the search page), or choose one of these with any lens color for just $19 with the code KJAPRV35. The shades are mostly brow bar and aviator frames, which are probably the easiest styles for anyone to wear.

Top Media Deals

Start your weekend with a pretty super deal. Amazon is marking down a ridiculous amount of Marvel stuff, from tees and toys, to dog beds and Blu-rays. It’s basically a comic book lover’s dream, except with less Stan Lee. But you’d better take advantage of this today, because it’ll disappear quicker than you can say “SNIKT”.

You could line up movie nights for the rest of the year with Amazon’s pre-Prime Day video sale. Buy hundreds of digital films for $5 each, and rent hundreds of others for just a buck. This page includes a selection of available titles, but be sure to hit the “See More” links for each category to find the rest.

If you love books, but don’t have as much time as you’d like to actually sit down and read them, Amazon’s Prime Day Audible deal has your name on it.

For a limited time, Prime members can get six months of the service for $9 each, down from the usual $15. That entitles you to a new book of your choice each month, and everything you buy is yours to keep, even if you cancel after the six month promotional period ends. While most of these kinds of promotions are only available to new members, you can get this deal if you’ve been a paid Audible subscriber in the past, as long as you haven’t been a member within the last 30 days.

For the rest of Amazon’s early Prime Day deals, check out our roundup here.

At $8 per month for Prime members, Amazon Music Unlimited was already more affordable than Spotify Premium or Apple Music, but Amazon’s sweetening the pot for new members by offering four months for just $1, for a limited time.

This deal is part of Amazon’s early Prime Day deals, and is by far the best deal they’ve ever offered on the service. If you’re a Prime member but haven’t signed up for Music Unlimited before, what’s $.25 per month to try it out?

Top Gaming Deals

If you own a PS4, but don’t have a copy of Rocket League, it’s down to just $10 today on Amazon. Just be prepared to lose your job and forsake all of your most important relationships.

If your PlayStation Plus membership is due to expire soon (or not), here’s another chance to grab a 12-month membership for $48, which is about as low as it’s gotten since Sony jacked up the MSRP to $60.

Just watch the time lapse video above, and try not to spend $8 on this (with code VQRPBWS6). I dare you.

Note: I couldn’t find a good video of this exact brand of space putty, but they’re all basically identical.

While you’re at it, you can buy a whole box of those little magnetic cubes for $17 too.

You can find fidget spinners for like $2-$3 from random Chinese sellers on eBay, but if patience isn’t one of your virtues, here’s a $3 model from Amazon with Prime shipping. Just be sure to use promo code RDHAYO2I at checkout.

Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is out, which means if you’re lucky enough to own a Nintendo Switch, you probably have already bought an extra set of Joy-Con. Now, they’re easier to charge than ever, as Amazon’s taking $5 off the official Nintendo charging stand, one of the first discounts we’ve seen.
