‘I told you I would do it’: Maryland man kills stepfather, tweets selfie with body

On Saturday morning, police in Maryland responded to a 911 call and found that a man had been choked to death by his own stepson.

After officers found the man dead in his own garage, they reportedly obtained a description of the stepson and issued a lookout. “We immediately began looking for the vehicle, located it and subsequently apprehended the vehicle,” said Chief Hank Stawinski of the Prince George’s County Police.

The lookout had only just been issued when officers spotted the man’s car, and a car chase followed. During the chase, a police vehicle collided with a car that was unrelated to the chase, though no one was injured. Eventually, the stepson returned to nearly the scene of the crime before his car stalled, and officers chased him on foot before apprehending him.

The two reportedly had a tense relationship, and police had been called to the house before for both verbal and physical disputes. This time, when police arrived, the wife of the slain man told them that her son had said, “I told you I would do it” before telling her that his stepfather was dead in the garage, at which point she called the authorities, according to a police report.

Even more shockingly, the man had reportedly laid out beside his dead stepfather’s body and took a selfie with the body, posting it on Twitter before it was subsequently removed.
