Abyssinian Baptist Church (in partnership with #UPTheVote901) will host a fish fry ($8 per plate) while collecting school supplies and conducting a voter empowerment symposium on Saturday (July 28) beginning at 10 a.m.

The Rev. Earle J. Fisher, pastor of Abyssinian, said, “We encourage community members to come eat, fellowship, support neighborhoods schools and obtain vital information (basic overview and ballot information, voter guides, etc.) to empower voters to participate in the current Shelby County General and State/Federal Primary election.”

Saturday is the last day of early voting.

Abyssinian Baptist Church is located at 3890 Millbranch Rd. in Whitehaven.

On Sunday (July 29), the church will host Annual Family & Friends Day, with service set for 10 a.m.
