The 2019 Block Party for Peace is billed as a venue where attendees can have a blast at a community festival, get a good job, beef up their education options and take advantage of health and wellness opportunities.

Set for Sept. 27-29, the festival is being presented by Kroger and will be staged at 3385 Austin Peay, next to McDonald’s. It will run from 10 a.m. to 7 p .m.

The Block Party for Peace was created 14 years ago by Antonio “2 Shay” Parkinson, who represents District 98 in the Tennessee House of Representatives.

Organizers say the mission is simple:

“We believe that we can improve community safety by improving quality of life for our citizens. We improve quality of life by delivering opportunities in employment, education and health.

“We provide all of this in a fun-filled family environment. The Block party for Peace is where you can make life better for you and your family…and have fun doing it.”
