Edgar Miller, who helped others get through the grief of death, dies at 68

Scores of photos and Edgar-Miller stories featured on social media speak to the fact that the chief of operations at N.J. Ford & Sons Funeral home had become a “member” of hundreds and hundreds of families by virtue of his service.

Miller died this week. He was 68.

“He worked all day Tuesday with us, just like any other work day,” said Lee Slater of N.J. Ford & Sons’ Lee Slater, who posted several stories, photos and asked for “prayers and condolences for myself, the Miller family, and the entire N.J. Ford & Sons staff…”

Miller’s death was an unexpected stunner.

“Sometime in the early morning hours on Wednesday, Edgar was found deceased at his home from natural causes,” said Slater. “He is the reason I came into the funeral care business 18 years ago and counting. May God comfort us all during this difficult time.”
