The City of Memphis and Memphis City Beautiful are leading the way in combating litter and blight in our city, issuing a call to action urging all residents to keep Memphis clean through the “901 KEEP IT CLEAN” public education campaign.

“It’s the M-Town spirit that we keep revealing. Cleaning our communities only makes the 901 more appealing. Take pride in your community and keep Memphis clean!”

A major focus of Mayor Strickland’s administration is blight reduction… this campaign educates the public on the negative impact litter and blight has on the city while igniting a citywide discussion on the issue.

Local celebrities serve as spokespersons and lead the way on multiple media platforms… billboards, radio, TV and print.  Including: Mayor Jim Strickland, UofM Coach Penny Hardaway, Memphis Grizzlies Grizz Girls, spoken word artist Sebastian Carson and Christ Missionary Baptist Church Senior Pastor Dr. Gina Stewart.

Components of the campaign include: Spoken Word Contest for Middle & High School students and
901 Calendar of community projects.
