Uplift the Community Grant

Attention all non-profits in the Memphis area!  Do you have a great idea for a new program or need money for a current or former program to improve Memphis through decreasing blight, crime or other community-centered projects?  Well, it’s time to make your dream program or project to improve Memphis communities a reality.

The NAACP Memphis Branch, the New Tri-State Defender Newspaper and Kroger Delta Division have reopened applications for the UPLIFT OUR COMMUNITY grant program.

This partnership is an exciting opportunity for a cross-section of businesses and community organizations to come together in a positive effort toward equitable change in Memphis and Shelby County.

Don’t wait!  This grant could fuel your non-profit’s dreams to help your fellow Memphians.

Grant Applicants Guidelines & Eligibility

To be eligible to receive an “Uplift Our Community Grant,” applicants must meet the following criteria:

  1. Have a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt designation from the Internal Revenue Service
  2. Be located within Memphis

IMPORTANT ITEMS TO CONSIDER:

  1. Maximum request must not exceed $10,000
  2. Incomplete applications will not be considered

FUNDING FOCUS:

Programs that focus on:

  1. Improving the community
  2. Decreasing blight
  3. Decreasing crime

The grant recipients will have to report back to the NAACP six months after the grant is rewarded to provide an update on progress made with the project.

Dates to Remember:

Our grant application process begins Friday, March 4, 2022.

The Application Deadline is Thursday, March 31, 2022.
Grants will be awarded on April 29, 2022
