The Memphis Chapter of Jack & Jill of America, Inc. will host its 81st Founders Day Celebration today (January 27) at 4 p.m. at Hattiloo Theater at 37 S. Cooper.
The gala event will feature a celebratory champagne toast to Gina Williams-Jackson, newly elected National Editor of Jack and Jill of America, Inc. Williams-Jackson is the wife of J. John Jackson, VP Fed Ex Services.
In addition, the Memphis Chapter will honor their legendary living past presidents, during a “Parade of Presidents.”
Also planned is a private seating for the acclaimed play, “A Song for Coretta” and the smooth jazz sounds of Copacetic 901, featuring Tracy McGee.
“A Song for Coretta” is set for 2:45 p.m., with absolutely no admission after 3 p.m.
“For 81 Years Jack and Jill has ignited, inspired, and impacted change for ALL children of diverse backgrounds by creating a wide range of educational, artistic, cultural, athletic, and social activities that build whole, healthy, and happy children that are ready to fulfill their full potential.”
Costs: $50 per person for the play and reception; $35 reception only; $25 all current Jack and Jill age group participants.
