After O.J. Simpson won parole in Nevada, prison officials took the step of moving him to a cell away from other inmates. The move was done for his protection .

He is in prison in Nevada for a 2007 armed robbery and kidnapping and has been a model prisoner.

A spokeswoman for the Nevada Department of Corrections, Brooke Keast, said that Simpson has been moved to special housing.

“His parole could make him a target here. He just has 2½ months to go, and we don’t want someone trying to make a name for themselves thinking, ‘I’m going to go punch O.J. Simpson in the face,’ ” she stated before adding many of the other inmates at the Lovelock Correctional Center, are serving life sentences so have little to lose.
