On Wednesday (July 1), a day after Mayor Jim Strickland and Memphis Police Department Director Michael Rallings detailed the city’s response to multiple sets of demands/suggestions/recommendations from protesters, police arrested 17 protesters after they refused to leave an encampment in front of City Hall for about two weeks.
