CodeCrew, a non-profit organization aimed at cultivating initiatives for Computer Science education, will host its fifth-annual “Hackathon” at the FedEx Institute of Technology, 365 Innovation Dr., on July 27-28.
Participants will tackle various aspects of school health, and how to creatively address it. The CodeCrew Hackathon is the finale to a summer of code.
Hackathon participants will be recruited and placed on teams. They will face the challenge of building mobile apps that promote and encourage healthy lifestyles. Students will then present their apps for judging. Winners will be awarded various prizes that include laptops and Amazon Echo’s, and much more.
Memphis rising artist and songwriter Marco Pave will be the event’s emcee.
