While African Americans make up nearly 70 percent of the Memphis population, the ability to wield that strength is marginalized if there is not a show of force at the polls.
Early voting now is underway for federal, state and municipal elections for the upcoming November 6 election. Registered voters can cast ballots through Thursday, Nov. 1.
