The Greater Memphis Chamber has bolstered its staff, adding Haley Simmons and Tasha Livingston.
Simmons joins the Chamber as the director of public policy, which is a new position in the Chamber’s community development department. He will be focused on enhancing the Chamber’s advocacy efforts to inform and engage members on important policy issues. Haley will also be responsible for growing the Chamber’s role in education initiatives.
Livingston joins the Chamber as the business development manager, which is also a new position. She will be responsible for increasing memberships and revenue as well as managing the development of the Chamber’s sales team and goals.
“We’re very fortunate to have these two talented individuals join the Chamber team. We look forward to seeing their experience and leadership drive the Chamber even closer to our goals to provide economic growth for all,” said Phil Trenary, president & CEO, Greater Memphis Chamber.
Simmons previously worked for the City of Memphis as the public policy consultant/special assistant to the chief administrative/operations office. Prior to that, he was the special assistant to a United States senator and also served for several years in the Peace Corps in Moldova as the community and organizational development consultant, where he developed school programming and advised the Mayor and City Council on budgetary matters.
He received his law degree from the University Of Illinois College Of Law, his Masters of Public Policy degree from the American University in D.C. and his B.S. in Political Science at UT Martin. Simmons and his fiancée welcomed a new baby boy last month.
Livingston has more than 20 years’ experience in hotel operations and sales. She previously worked as the vice president of operations for Pillar Hotels & Resorts in Texas and was responsible for the opening of all new hotels. Prior to that, she worked for Hilton Worldwide in Memphis as the director of owner support consulting on revenue, sales, product and service performance.
She played college basketball at Shippensburg University and attended Penn State University, studying Communications. She lives with her daughter, Brogan, 7, and their dog Pongo.
