TSDtv Presents: A Conversation about Entrepreneurship & Economic Initiatives

0

With the 2022 African American History Month observation as the backdrop, a five-member panel guided by moderator Karanja A. Ajanaku, associate publisher/executive editor of The New Tri-State Defender, recently explored topics such as the “entrepreneurial mindset,” “growing wealth” and the need for “intentionality” regarding the fostering of African-American-owned businesses.

The online discussion — held Feb. 15 — was presented by The New Tri-State Defender and hosted by Writing by Design Media, Inc., whose founder and president is Paula Anderson.

The essence of the session is the basis of a four-part series housed for on-demand viewing on TSDtv, the YouTube home of The New Tri-State Defender and TSDMemphis.com.

The panelists were: Alandas Dobbins, founder of Oteka Technologies, LLC; Mike Hoffmeyer, director of the Crews Center for Entrepreneurship; Michael McGhee, founder of MDM Investments of Memphis; Shelby Peranich, associate director, Center for Entrepreneurship & Innovation at Christian Brothers University (CBU); and Ernest Strickland, president of the Black Business Association of Memphis.

LaTanya Channel, Tennessee district director for the Small Business Administration, makes a resource-filled presentation in Pt. 4.
