With JaMychal out, it’s Jaren Jackson time for the Grizzlies

Usually, this short post would say a few pithy words about the Grizzlies blowout win over the woeful Atlanta Hawks, raving about Jaren Jackson’s 24-point outburst.

Instead, I have nothing but prayers for Grizzlies PF JaMychal Green, who suffered a broken jaw while attempting a block. It’s the second year in a row that JMyke has gone down in a home opener. And as much as I am excited to see what Jackson does in extended minutes, I hate it for JaMychal. Whether it’s with the Grizzlies or another team, he’s playing for his next contract. Here’s hoping he comes back strong.

I was pleased to be joined for some postgame commentary by my colleague over at All Heart In Hoop City, Sharon Brown. Sharon is a talented writer who knows basketball and knows the Grizzlies. She reps for the sistaz in Memphis!

So here are the postgame clips from the Atlanta victory. Keep in mind they were recorded BEFORE the team officially announced Green’s injury and status.
