For those of you keeping track of such things, the Memphis Grizzlies are now a half-game behind the San Antonio Spurs for the No. 8 seed in the NBA Playoffs – and guess who the Grizzlies play next?

After wins like last night’s 119-112 victory over the Minnesota Timberwolves – and quite frankly, should-have-won games like Sacramento – it’s hard to contain the optimism of this young Grizzlies squad being ready for the postseason.

But we’ve seen the raw talent of Ja Morant and Brandon Clarke. Somehow, Dillon Brooks has morphed into a starter-level shooting guard. We’ve watched the re-emergence of Jaren Jackson Jr., who became the first player in NBA history to have three blocks and three 3-pointers in three consecutive games. And we’ve seen head coach Taylor Jenkins get his squad to play hard and play together virtually every night.

Brooks, Morant and Jackson each went for at least 20 points last night, while Crowder delivered five steals and DeAnthony Melton continued his strong play. Check out my 3-point play from last night and postgame comments.

And postgame comments from Jenkins, Ja, Jaren and Jae, LOL
