Jared “Jay B.” Boyd, governor of the Memphis Grammy Chapter and program director of WYXR, shared his vision for the future of music in the city. Boyd highlighted the chapter’s focus on supporting local artists and other creatives through mentorship, workshops and resources.

“Memphis is a living, breathing music hub, from artists of today’s time such as Young Dolph, Key Glock and the whole PRE, to what Glorilla is doing, what Hit Kidd is doing. I’m just a fan of so many of those people, and I also have such a deep knowledge of the history of the music in the 50s, 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s, to the point to where I think I can be a support to those artists that I just named to be a bridge to the music of the past,” he said, emphasizing the importance of keeping the Memphis music ball rolling.

Boyd also discussed the chapter’s efforts to keep Memphis special and doing what it takes to ensure that Memphis remains a key player in the global music scene. His leadership continues to shape the future of both local and broader music communities.
