Pastor J. Lawrence Turner of Mississippi Boulevard Christian Church.

Just when it seems summer is just getting started, we learn it’s almost over. In other words, it’s Back-To-School time, and Mississippi Boulevard Christian Church is doing its part to help parents and students prepare, with a health fair on Saturday, July 27:

Memphis families and students of all ages are invited to come to the BLVD to get everything they need for Day One of the upcoming school year – including immunizations, health screenings, and school supplies.

This event is one of the many ways that The BLVD emphasizes the importance of youth development and education, which means showing up on Day One – prepared, engaged and ready for a productive year.

Here’s a quick breakdown of what to expect:

What: Mississippi Boulevard Christian Church and The Academy for Youth Empowerment are holding a Back to School Health Fair to ensure Memphis students are fully prepared for the first day of school. Children will receive services and supplies that are required to ensure all are prepared for the upcoming school year at no cost, including:

      • Immunizations
      • On-site Shelby County Schools registration
      • Dental and vision screenings
      • Back to school supplies
      • and more!

The Health Fair is open to students of all ages who need proper vaccinations before starting the 2019-2020 school year. The event is open to the public and will include free food and entertainment.
