G Herbo brought his signature street anthems and energetic stage presence to Minglewood Hall as the headliner for the 3rd annual Juneteenth Summer Classic, an event promoted by Tapped In and Peppa Mouth of the South.
The show on Friday, June 19, featured a strong lineup of local talent, including super producer Hitkidd, Duke Deuce, CoCash, and Fast Cash Jizzle, along with several other performers who helped showcase the city’s thriving hip-hop scene.
Despite G Herbo’s national profile and loyal fan base, attendance was lighter than many expected for a headlining performance of this magnitude. The turnout suggested that Memphis may not be one of the rapper’s strongest markets, even as he continues to maintain a respected presence in hip-hop nationwide.

Still, the fans who attended were engaged throughout the night, rapping along to many of G Herbo’s most popular records and showing appreciation for both the headliner and the local artists who opened the show. The concert provided a platform for Memphis talent while giving local supporters of G Herbo a chance to see the Chicago rapper perform live.
One of the night’s biggest takeaways was the contrast between the strength of the lineup and the size of the audience. While Memphis has consistently supported its own artists and Southern rap acts, Friday’s event raised questions about whether G Herbo’s music resonates as strongly in the local market compared to other regions.
Regardless of attendance figures, the performers delivered professional sets and maintained high energy throughout the evening.
