TONITE’S THE NITE! Best In Black Awards 2024 set for Central Station Hotel

The stage is set for the 2024 Best in Black (BIB) Awards, hosted by the Tri-State Defender, tonight from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Central Station Hotel in downtown Memphis!

This prestigious event celebrates outstanding Black-owned businesses, community organizations, entrepreneurs, and individuals who make an impact in the Mid-South. With more than 30 categories of awards, the Best in Black Awards recognizes excellence and promotes the achievements of Memphis’s Black community.

The event will be hosted by Pepper Baker, anchor and reporter for ABC24. Known for her in-depth journalism and Emmy-nominated coverage, Pepper brings both experience and energy to the BIB Awards stage. A Tallahassee native with a rich background in reporting, Pepper is excited to join the Memphis community in recognizing the city’s best and brightest.

In addition to category awards, three special Publisher’s Awards will be presented to honor extraordinary contributions: AutoZone Executive David McKinney, former Women’s Foundation for a Greater Memphis President/CEO Ruby Bright, and original member of the iconic Bar-Kays James Alexander.

Tickets are still available at $89.86 on Eventbrite, with printed tickets available at the Tri-State Defender office for $75. Finalists have already been announced, and attendees are encouraged to reserve their seats quickly for what promises to be an inspiring evening.
