With Ja Morant and Brandon Clarke out, Grizzlies lose to Mavs 138-122

The Memphis Grizzlies fell to the Dallas Mavericks on Saturday night, 138-122. And the reason it went down like that is pretty simple: Dallas outplayed the Grizzlies in every facet of the game. They shot (and made) more three-pointers. They shot (and made) more free throws. They outrebounded Memphis. And they scored 33 points off of the Grizzlies 16 turnovers.

Add in that rookie prodigies Ja Morant and Brandon Clarke were both out, you could wonder how the final score ended up being so close. While it was encouraging that big man Jaren Jackson Jr. is starting to show signs of life (23 points on an efficient 10-17 shooting), it would also be a stretch to say he was ever in danger of dominating the game.

No, that honor went to Dallas’ Luka Doncic, who led all scorers with 24 points, 14 rebounds and eight assists. He nearly had a triple-double by the end of the third quarter. Check out my three-point play below:
