After weeks of delay and controversy, the Memphis City Council on Tuesday found consensus around the choice of Sherman Greer to fill the vacant District 1 position.

Greer, a Southwest Tennessee Community College administrator, moves into the seat vacated by Bill Morrison, who was elected Shelby County Probate Court Clerk.
