“We don’t help you FIND a job; we help you MAKE one.”
That’s the tagline for the Entrepreneur Training Institute (ETI), which held its first graduation ceremony – a hybrid event with some attending virtually – last Saturday (Nov. 13).
Founded in 2018 by Beverly H. Anderson, ETI’s mission is to provide entrepreneurs with the training, education and opportunities needed along their journey to personal and entrepreneurial success.
Anderson said ETI seeks those that are “unemployed, underemployed or unemployable looking to provide a better quality of life for themselves and their families. Now more than ever, people are finding themselves unemployed, underemployed, unemployable or even looking for a way to earn additional income with a self-employment venture.”
ETI offers classes in three areas: Non-profit Development 101, Small Business Development 101, and Personal Income Tax Preparation. The 6-week sessions are designed to equip students with the basics needed to start their own self-employment journeys.
Anderson and Jeraldine Hunter-Gaddes, owner of Beyarata Mobile Disaster Tax Service, were the session instructors.
Here are the Fall 2021 graduates:
- Non-profit Development 101 – Lisa McNulty and Nicole Gates.
- Small Business Development 101 – LaJoyce Harris, Lisa McNulty and Marie Thomas.
- Personal Income Tax Preparation – Peggy Cash, Karen Smith-Clark, Annie Dortch, Nicole Gates, Tonya Harrison, Tacarra Hodges, Tara Mabon, Allice McGee, Esther Newman, Ella Whittie-Walker, Denise Williams and Angela Jett (2020 graduate).
The next session is scheduled to begin January 2022.
