A lot happened Tuesday evening at the Memphis Shelby County School Board meeting — a meeting abruptly convened for one purpose: to terminate the contract of  Superintendent Marie Feagins. Tempers flared, accusations flew, as did the occasional cuss word. People were escorted from the room. It was that kind of meeting.

By the end, Feagins had won something of a reprieve: In January, she will get a chance to formally respond to allegations that her administration has mishandled funds and fostered a toxic work environment.

And if the hundreds that showed up to support her Tuesday night is any indication, that board meeting might need a MUCH larger venue — maybe even FedExForum

TSD has full coverage of the meeting on the way, but you can watch the fireworks speedily called school board meeting for yourself above. And check back for insight and perspective here and in our e-Edition!
