Looking for a ‘Mardi Gras’ style party, but in comfortable shoes? Masquerade Sneaker Ball set for Feb. 10

If you’re looking to attend a masquerade ball on the weekend before Mardi Gras — and you want to wear comfortable footwear — there’s a benefit fundraiser you might want to check out.

The Jewel Guild Foundation, known for its commitment to supporting communities in Shelby County, Tennessee, is hosting its Inaugural Annual Masquerade Sneaker Ball. Set to take place at The Palace of Cordova Event Center on February 10, 2024, from 7 pm to 12 am, the Masquerade Sneaker Ball promises to be a memorable experience.

A portion of proceeds will go towards scholarships in honor of late Bernal E. Smith III, former Publisher of The Tri-State Defender, and Malcolm Wallace, a civic leader in the Mid-South. These scholarships are targeted at supporting male high school seniors from Memphis-Shelby County, Tipton County, and Fayette County Area.

The event is not just about fundraising; it’s also about fun. The Masquerade Sneaker Ball, powered by The TaKeOver, invites guests to don their favorite sneakers and enjoy a night filled with music, dance, and mystery, all while supporting a noble cause.

Tickets can be purchased through the Jewel Guild Foundation’s website. Those who cannot attend but wish to support the Foundation’s efforts, can also donate through the website.

The Jewel Guild Foundation, as the charitable arm of the Sigma Rho Lambda Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., continues to play a significant role in community development and youth empowerment.

For more information about the event, ticket purchases, or the Foundation, please visit the Jewel Guild Foundation’s website at www.thejewelguildfoundation.org, or check the Eventbrite page for the JGF-SRL Scholarship Masquerade Sneaker Ball.
