It was hard not to get teary-eyed back in 2016 when Kobe Bryant released his animated short film “Dear Basketball,” in which he narrates how he fell in love with the game and ascended to its heights. He even describes why he had to leave the game he loves. Bryant won an Academy Award for the film in 2017.
It may be impossible to hold those tears back now that Bryant is gone. Bryant died on Sunday, Jan. 26 in a helicopter crash, one of nine killed – including his 13-year-old daughter Gianna.
Fortunately, it’s okay to cry.
