Amber Floyd, a senior associate at Wyatt, Tarrant & Combs LLP, has been named a recipient of the 2017 American Bar Association (ABA) “On the Rise – Top 40 Young Lawyers” award. Floyd is the only Tennessee attorney this year to receive the award.
The honor is presented by the ABA’s Young Lawyers Division, which annually selects 40 young lawyers from throughout the United States who “exemplify a broad range of high achievement, innovation, vision, leadership and legal and community service.” Nominees had to be 36 years of age or younger, or admitted to practice for five years or less as of August 30, 2017.
Ms. Floyd is a member of Wyatt’s Litigation and Dispute Resolution Service Team, and concentrates her practice in the areas of commercial litigation, construction, and tort law. She has successfully represented title companies, banks, big box retailers and some of the largest developers in the region in litigation, mediation and arbitration matters.
Ms. Floyd is a member of the board of directors of the Memphis Bar Association (MBA) and serves as chairman of the MBA’s Access to Justice Committee. She is also Chairman of the Community Services Committee of the Ben F. Jones Chapter of the National Bar Association, a co-host of the Let’s Talk Law radio program on WLOK 1340, and recently served as Division 10 Associate Editor for Construction Law update for the ABA’s Forum on the Construction Industry.

Ms. Floyd’s honors include the Tennessee Bar Association’s Young Lawyers Division President’s Award; Memphis Business Journal’s Best of the Bar Award for Ace Associate; the Tennessee Bar Association’s Young Lawyers Division Star of the Quarter Award; the Tennessee Supreme Court Attorney for Justice; the National Bar Association’s President’s Award; and the Memphis Bar Association’s Access to Justice Award.
