The 49th NAACP Image Awards will be broadcast live from Pasadena, Calif. on Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day (January 15) and I will be there to deliver multi-media coverage.

Yes, I am excited!

Join me at 7 p.m. on Monday on TSDtv Live (Facebook updates) and check out my Instagram posts.

The NAACP Image Awards celebrate the accomplishments of people of color in the fields of music, television, film and literature, with special salutes to individuals who promote social justice through creative endeavors.

The Image Awards will be hosted by Anthony Anderson and broadcast live on TV One from the Pasadena Convention Center at 8 p.m.  A one-hour pre-show will air live from the red carpet before the two-hour main event.

I consider it a special privilege to be able to attend the Image Awards the year of #MLK50. The gala will include presenting the survivors of the 1968 sanitation workers strike with the prestigious NAACP Vanguard Award.

I’m also looking forward to being in the room with some of my favorite entertainers — Taraji P. Henson, Ava DuVernay, Issa Rae and Tracee Ellis Ross. They’re all nominated for awards.

Stay connected as I share this spectacular night at The NAACP Image Awards!
