On Monday, Charlamagne Tha God made his first ever appearance on ESPN’s First Take, and he didn’t shy away from confronting Stephen A. Smith over his stance on Colin Kaepernick.
Smith had said that he was dismissive of everything that Kaepernick had done, especially his decision to kneel during the national anthem that sparked a wave of similar protests across the country, because Kaepernick did not vote in the most recent election.
Charlamagne gave Smith his “Donkey of the Day” award for his comments, and when Smith and Charlamagne met on First Take, he wanted to know why.
Of course, Smith was sure to say that he wasn’t bothered by Charlamagne’s comments, and they discussed Malcolm X’s similar stance to voting.
With the NFL draft just a few days away, and with Kaepernick still unattached, the issue on the table that he could be being punished for his political stance is a hot topic.
